My second Christmas destinations are Milan and Verona in Italy. I decided to do them both in one post, because they are quite close together and you can visit them both over a short weekend break. This is how I visited them 2 years ago. I’m more used to Christmas markets in Austria and Germany, and visiting this two was my first Italian Christmas experience. For beginning there was much more cheese, pasta and truffles on the stands. :) Now for me pasta doesn’t really say Christmas so much, so I must say I prefer ”Alpine Christmas” experience. However you can see some photos and decide for yourself.

I’ve been in Verona once before (and also once since then) as a part of art history excursion. I can say that I hardly recognized the city, because of the crowd and decorations but probably also because the first time was with a tourist agency and a large group of people. I liked the Verona market much better, I think there were more interesting products and there were fewer people than in Milan.
